A happy few months

I haven't written in my blog since February. I've had a whirlwind, non stop time since then!
Non stop wedding planning, searching, making, decorating, clearing up and lots of fun! In April we took my parents and sister to Beaumaris, Anglesey for a week. We had a lovely week in a georgous house overlooking the Menai Straits. The weather was good, we visited all our favourite places on Anglesey and explored Beaumaris. It was great to spend time with my parents and sister.
Then, the big day! On May 30th my lovely oldest daughter Lizi married her fiancé Rob at St Beuno's Church, Berriew. It was the church where her father and I got married and her grandparents and great grandparents before. A lovely service followed by a reception at Montgomery Town Hall. This is a lovely Georgian building in what was the old county town of Montgomeryshire. We decorated downstairs with bunting, a comfy seating area, a photo booth, drinks table, tea and coffee in vintage china, lots of pots filled with flowers, a children's play area and a jazz group playing. Upstairs was decorated in grey and ivory, lots of flowers, lace and lights giving an ethereal feel. It was just perfect. The bride looked beautiful, the groom besotted and the best men suitably hilarious in their speech. I'm now officially a mother in law ad couldn't be happier, Jane x

What a wonderful, family time you've been having ….. and, it's such a special time when our children get married, isn't it ? …….. it's a shame that the wedding day goes so quickly isn't it ? Congratulations to them ….. I wish them both many happy times together.

What a lovely story about your daughter's wedding with so much family history.

  3. Sounds like a wonderful wedding. It's quite a rite of passage, becoming a mother-in-law, and certainly a challenge. I am still working on my act, but just spent a perfectly wonderful day with my son and new daughter-in-law, so very happy about that.
